An overview: from order to print

A complete guide to the journey from a customer making an order to them receiving a personalised marketing insert

1. A customer places an order on your store

2. Penny Black receives the order data

3. Penny Black adds order information from third-party systems 

After receiving your store order info we can also "enrich" it with additional info from other systems, such as Klaviyo or Emarsys. The platform waits for a default of 60 seconds before enriching. This is known as an Enrichment Delay and is configurable in your settings.

4. Penny Black matches the order to a campaign based on the segmentation

The platform checks the order against your live campaigns to see if they match the segments.

5. Penny Black creates a personalised campaign insert for the customer

A PDF is created with the personalised element added based on the customer & order information

6. Your fulfilment team triggers the insert to print at the point of packing

This trigger will depend on the WMS you're using and how Penny Black is integrated

7. The insert is packed with the order and delivered to your customer
