How do I include the order number on prints to help with batch packing?

This guide provides instructions for designing artwork with a customer order number

If your warehouse is packing orders in batches, or using a batch printing process, they will need the order number to be visible on the insert to ensure the correct print goes into each package.

Artwork design

We suggest adding the order number in a corner of the artwork. This way, packers can quickly find the order number while keeping the overall look appealing for your customers.

  • In the text box, add the prefix such as Order# order Order Number along with a variable in curly brackets, such as {order number}
  • Name and style your field to match the rest of the design
  • Save the artwork

If the artwork is currently in use, you will need to temporarily stop any campaigns that rely on it before saving your changes. To avoid losing your progress, consider editing the campaigns in a different browser tab. Once you have saved the updated artwork, you can resume your campaigns, including the new field mapping outlined below.

Here are a few other examples of how this can look on different designs:

Campaign configuration

From the Campaigns page, select the campaign that uses your updated artwork.

In the Personalise Content section, find your new field and map it to the value that you want to show. In most cases, this will be the customer-facing Order number.

Alternatively, you can choose the Order ID if this is used by the Warehouse Management System, or an Order custom attribute if the WMS uses its own order number, which has been enriched against your orders already:
