Shopify print integration - Chrome extension

How to trigger prints from Shopify using our Chrome extension

Printing is now possible directly through the latest Shopify Penny Black app and is the preferred approach over the Chrome extension. See our guide.

See the introductory guide on how to download and install this in your web browser.

Configuration

  • Choose Shopify as the fulfilment system
  • You’ll be working in Live mode
  • We will provide you with an API Key
  • The merchant ID is a special identifier for allowing you to print your orders. This can be found and configured on the Print & Scan tab within the Penny Black app Settings page:
We will agree with you on the print location names. These will be different for each web browser running the extension on your different workbenches. This routes the prints for this bench to the correct printer. It’s quite likely that you will only have 1 printer and therefore 1 print location.

Usage

Single order printing

  • From the View Order page there is an additional pink Print button to trigger your Penny Black prints.
  • Click the button and an overlay will show a message to explain the result.

Batch printing

  • On the Orders List page you should now see a similar Pink button in the top-right corner.
  • This will send a print request for a batch of all ticked orders.
  • An overlay will show the result of this print request in the middle of the screen.
