An overview of all the steps to launch with Penny Black

Week 1
In week 1, you will complete the basic account set-up tasks.
1. Complete your Fulfilment Onboarding Form
- Complete this form with the relevant fulfilment details to kick off your operational set-up. Please ensure the person with the full context of your fulfilment processes does this.
- Once the form is complete, we will ship the satellite(s) to your warehouse.
2. Install the Penny Black app
- Using Shopify? Install the app directly from the Shopify App Store here.

3. Enable network access
- Without the right network access, the printer will not be able to connect to the platform.
- Read the network requirements here and ensure Penny Black's satellites can access the required ports. You may need to confirm the requirements with your internet provider, so start this step early!
Week 2
In week 2, you'll decide on your campaign strategy, start the design process and begin integrating Penny Black within your fulfilment operation.
4. Decide on your campaigns & segmentation
- Decide on your launch campaigns based on your business objectives (see our guide here to our best-performing campaigns).
5. Start designing your artwork
6. Integrate Penny Black with your WMS
- You will receive an email with a download link and your unique configuration details to integrate Penny Black with your WMS.
- Please see an overview of our WMS integrations and how printing is triggered with each here.
7. Connect your satellite
- The Penny Black team will confirm once a satellite has been shipped to you.
- Plug this and inform the PB team. We will confirm the satellite is online & test the connection to your network.
Week 3
In week 3, you'll order your card stock and connect your hardware.
8. Order your pre-printed card stock
- If you're ordering through a Penny Black partner supplier, upload your cover artwork & place the order via the Stock & Ordering section.

9. Order and/or receive your hardware
- Please see our guide to ordering your hardware & ink supplies if you're managing your own production.
- If your production is being managed by a Penny Black partner, we'll let you and/or your warehouse know once the hardware is shipped, this will likely be when your campaign strategy and designs are complete.

Week 4
In week 4, everything comes together. You'll upload & launch your campaigns, test and go live.
10. Upload your campaigns to Penny Black
11. End-to-end test the integration with your campaigns
- Once your orders have started matching their campaigns, and your inserts are available, trigger a few prints.
